If you are in pain we want to see you at the onset of symptoms, not once the problem has settled in. Treatment starts with finding the area doing the compensating, then rebuilding strength, flexibility and agility until you can return to everything you did before.

Tendinosis is a structural change in the tendon caused by repetitive overactivity, age or genetics rather than by a single traumatic event. It shows up as chronic shoulder pain, joint stiffness, swelling, arm weakness and a grating noise on movement.
Because blood supply to tendons is low, recovery can take three to six months depending on severity and how quickly you seek care. Physical therapy relieves the load on the shoulder while the tendon heals.

An overuse and strain injury where the forearm tendons attach to the bony bump on the outside of the elbow. It affects anyone doing repetitive wrist and arm work, carpenters, handymen and painters as often as athletes.
Pain radiates from the outside of the elbow into the forearm and wrist, with weakness in the hand and stiffness at the elbow. Treatment combines exercise, soft tissue work, bracing and relative rest.

Damage to the muscles and tendons controlling the wrist and fingers causes pain on the inner side of the arm, where the forearm muscles attach at the elbow. Excessive or repetitive stress is the usual cause.
Expect discomfort along the inner forearm, weakness in the hand and wrist, stiffness, and sometimes tingling in the fingers. Therapy, bracing and a graded strengthening program keep it from coming back.

The carpal tunnel is a narrow passage at the wrist made of bone, soft tissue, tendon, ligament and blood vessels. Pressure there swells the median nerve and brings pain, weakness, numbness or tingling through the hand and into the forearm.
Carpal tunnel syndrome should be diagnosed and treated early. Your consultation includes a physical examination of the hand, arm, shoulder and neck, plus orthopedic testing to separate a daily activity cause from an underlying disorder.

Hands are hard to rest and quick to stiffen, which is why upper limb injuries need their own kind of rehabilitation. We treat the fractures, tendon and ligament injuries and nerve compressions that limit grip, and we work at the pace the tissue will take.
